Marlene A. Carpenter

Marlene A. Carpenter, 82, of Catawba Island, OH passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH. She was born November 12, 1939 in Toledo, OH the daughter of Paul L. and Elsie M. (Burnett) Snyder. She married James Carpenter on May 15, 1971 and he preceded her in death on June 30, 2017. Marlene was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, Catawba Island where she was active playing music for the church. She was a bookkeeper for the church and many area businesses. Jim and Marlene owned and operated J&M Custom Framing in Marblehead for may years. She was a beautiful seamstress and she enjoyed knitting, cross stitch and planting flowers. Surviving are her son: Paul Carpenter of Port Clinton; daughter: Nina (Richard) Boston of Richmond, IN; grandchildren: Eric Stout of Catawba Island, Rebekah (Peter) Stout of San Rafel, CA, Megan (John) Irwin of Perry, MI, TJ (Heather) Bane of Richmond, IN, Natalie (Dallas) King of Williamsburg, IN; eleven great-grandchildren; son-in-law: Charles Gaskey of Catawba Island and sister-in-law: Lucille Crawford of Prescott, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter: Patricia Gaskey. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH where visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to Resurrection Lutheran Church Music Fund, 2370 N. E. Catawba Rd. Port Clinton, OH 43452.
