Marla V. Kessler

Marla V. Kessler, 79, of Marblehead, Ohio passed away with her family by her side on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, Ohio. She was born on October 15, 1936 in Wellsburg, West Virginia, the daughter of Robert Roberson and Sarah Esther Ruth (Brant) Roberson-Hisson. She married Carl Kessler on August 21, 1959 and he preceded her in death on March 13, 1991. Marla is retired from Macys, formerly known as The May Company in the Sandusky Mall, where she worked in the kitchen, on the switchboard and in housekeeping. During that time she also worked at Bergman's Orchards in Danbury Township assisting customers. She was a member of Firelands Presbyterian Church, Port Clinton. She enjoyed reading, solving puzzles, crafts- especially crocheting and knitting dolls for her family and friends. More importantly, she loved spending time with her family and will be missed by all. Survivors include her daughters, Sharon (John) Cox, Port Clinton and Christina (Kenny) Heschel, Port Clinton; sons, Stephen (Janice) Kessler, New Cumberland, West Virginia and Carl (fiance', Stacie Priddy) Kessler, Oak Harbor; her mother, Esther; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Kaye Franks, Florida. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert; her step-father, Bernard Hisson, and an infant granddaughter. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Road, Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 11am at the Funeral Home, with Reverend Janine Dress officiating. Burial will follow at Sackett Cemetery, Danbury Township.
