Marjorie M. Schling

Marjorie M. Schling, 79, of Elmore, Ohio, died Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo following an extended illness. She was born on July 22, 1928 in Oak Harbor, OH a daughter of the late Harold & Madeline (Lohrbach) Atwater. Marjorie was a 1946 graduate of Harris- Elmore High School, and graduated Cosmetology school. On February 23, 1946, she married Walter L. Schling, and he preceded her in death on October 2, 2002. Marjorie worked as a beautician for many years, owning the Mar-Vic Beauty Shop in Luckey, Ohio. She also worked at Otterbein/Portage Valley Retirement Center in Pemberville, Ohio, and the Powder Puff in Elmore. Marjorie retired in 1988. She was a long time member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore. Marjorie is survived by her children, Donald W. Schling, Martin, OH, Randall G. Schling, Elmore, OH, Vicki J. Balhoff, Monclova, OH, and Rodney H. Schling, Luckey, OH; sisters: Bev Zimmerman, Lindsey, OH, and Karen Avers, Elmore, OH. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son, Dennis L. Schling, brother, Myron Atwater and a sister Ruth Fahle. Services will begin at 11am Monday, July 14, 2008 at Harris- Elmore Union Cemetery with the Rev. Karl Whiteman officiating. Public Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore.
