Marjorie L. Rodenhauser

February 18, 1932 — January 20, 2008

Marjorie L. Rodenhauser, 75, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Sunday morning at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor. She was born in Fremont, Ohio on February 18, 1932, a daughter of Robert & Flavia (Meyer) Widman. A long time member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor, Marjorie was a member and past president of the Altar & Rosary Society. She was also the church Sacristan for many years. An expert seamstress, she was the sewing champion of the 1949 Ohio State Fair. For many years, Marjorie assisted her husband Don in the operation of Dons Bakery in Oak Harbor and Port Clinton, and also worked in the cafeteria for Benton-Carroll-Salem Schools. Known for her dedication to 4-H and the Ottawa County Fair, she was a 4-H advisor for 26 years and a member of the Ottawa County Fair Board for 12 years. Marjorie was a poll worker for many years, and was actively involved in Heartbeat of Ottawa County. In recent years, she greatly enjoyed gardening and traveling. Her family was the most important thing in her life, and she will be remembered as a most caring and loving person. On April 16, 1952, Marjorie married Donald Rodenhauser, and he survives. Also surviving are her sons, Kevin (Barb) Rodenhauser, Oak Harbor, Chuck (Jill) Rodenhauser, Hillsdale, MI, Tom (Jessica) Rodenhauser, Keene, NH, and Jon (Carolyn) Rodenhauser, Oak Harbor; daughters, Amy (Tim) Martikan, Fremont, Lucy (Jeff) Giesler, Graytown, OH, and Jeanne (Jerry) Rudolph, Plain City, OH; brother, Norbert (Sandy) Widman, California; sisters, Gerry Daiber, Woodville, OH, Roberta Esker, Tucson, AZ, and Kathy (Richard) Faist, Sylvania, OH; 26 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Mary Ellen Menden. Friends may call from 2-9 P.M. Wednesday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where the family will be present from 2-4 & 6-9 P.M. A Parish Wake service will be held at 8:30 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at St. Boniface Church, Oak Harbor with the Rev. David L. Ritchie as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Josephs Cemetery, Fremont. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartbeat of Ottawa County, St. Boniface Church, or Riverview Auxiliary.
