Marjorie Jane Croll Fought, 88, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Dec. 31, 2011 at Memorial Hospital, Fremont, Ohio. Born on March 10, 1923 to Emery & Esther (Roderick) Croll, she lived her whole life in Oak Harbor. She attended nurses training, was a homemaker and worked in the family business at the Family Food Market. Marge was a devoted and active member of the Oak Harbor United Methodist Church, enjoyed entertaining family and friends, and was an avid golfer. She is survived by her daughter, Gail Schmunk Murray, Memphis, Tenn.; son, Chuck Fought, Ft. Mill, S.C.; daughter, Barbara Fought, Syracuse, N.Y.; two sons-in-law; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, a sister, Elizabeth Dokmo, St. Louis, MO, and her long-time friend, Bill Briggs, Oak Harbor. In 1943, she married Russell L. Schmunk, who was killed in 1945 during WW II. She later married Charles G. Fought, who died in 1983. She was also preceded by a brother, Gaylord Croll. Marge is also survived by a host of extended family members and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the Oak Harbor United Methodist Church, with a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall of the church. Pastor Melissa Steinecker will officiate, and interment will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Oak Harbor United Methodist Church.
