Marilyn M. Gangway, 92, of Catawba Island, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 22, 2021 at her home. She was born at home on Catawba, October 7, 1929, the daughter of Arthur and Dorothy (Brady) Lemmerman. Her entire life she lived within one mile of her childhood home. She married William C. “Jack” Gangway on October 2, 1954 and he preceded her in death on May 13, 2000. She was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton where she was very active holding offices in every group of the church and singing in the choir for almost 80 years. On Catawba she was active in many organizations including: Child Conservation League, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, American Field Service and American Cancer Society. She was also active in Playmakers Theatre in Port Clinton. Marilyn and Jack started the Community Thanksgiving Meal and she always was busy cooking, feeding and serving all in the community. Surviving are her children: Kathy (Mike) Richmond of Bellevue, OH, Mary Gangway of Port Clinton, OH and John (Mary Nehls) Gangway of Catawba Island; grandchildren: Chris (Nicole) Richmond, Jackie (Tory) Woodard, Traci (Mike) McMurray, Alexandra Dziak and Grant Dziak; nine great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and many “bonus” grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Jack; grandson: Brian Collier; brothers: Ray Lemmerman and Bill Lemmerman. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 3:00 – 6:00 pm at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, November 29, 2021 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 135 Adams St. Port Clinton, OH. Interment will follow in Catawba Island Cemetery. Pastor Warren Brown will be officiating.
