Marilyn Leona (Gackstetter) Dreier

Marilyn Leona (Gackstetter) Dreier, 85 of Columbus, OH died Friday, March 10, 2023 at Westminster-Thurber Nursing Center under Hospice Care. She was born August 8, 1937 in Genoa, OH to the late Lewis and Malinda (Suhrbier) Gackstetter. She was a graduate of Salem-Oak Harbor High School and received her B.S. in Education from Bowling Green State University. Marilyn retired from the Benton-Carroll-Salem School District following 37 years of teaching. On November 19, 1960 she married W. Wayne Dreier and he survives.

Marilyn held memberships at Trinity Lutheran Church, Elmore, St. John Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge, Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, and Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Columbus, OH. She had a passion for and loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother

Survivors include her husband of 62 years Wayne Dreier of Columbus, OH; daughter Merri Lynn Osborn of Columbus, OH; son Andy (Debbie) Dreier of Galloway, OH; grandchildren: Malinda (Stephenson) Coffin, Meredith (Jon Esala) Osborn, Marissa Osborn, MaryGrace Osborn, Justin (Aubri) Dreier, Amanda (Mike) Willing; great-grandchildren: Keira Coffin, Emmett Esala-Osborn, and one on the way; and brother Chuck Gackstetter of Willard, MO. She was also preceded in death by a brother Henry Gackstetter.

Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8pm with the family present 2-4 & 6-8pm at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 1pm on Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Funeral Home. Interment will take place at a later date.
