Marilyn D. Fran

Marilyn D. Fran, 73, of Lakeside-Marblehead Ohio died Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Marymount Hospital in Garfield Heights, Ohio. She was born on December 5, 1936 in Michigan, the daughter of the late Raymond and Nelly Maihofer. She married Leonard J. Fran and he preceded her in death on December 22, 2005. Marilyn began her working career as a school teacher in Euclid, and then went to work as a travel agent before becoming the owner/operator of Argus Travel Agency in Cleveland, where she worked until she sold the business and retired. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marblehead; Port Clinton Elks Lodge #1718; and the Marblehead VFW Post #7572 Ladies Auxiliary. Her hobbies included shopping, sewing, camping, fishing, and boating. Survivors include her daughters: Vickie (Andy) Wallace of Maple Heights, OH; Debbie Kubalak, of Pennsylvania; and Cindy (Bill) Hertz, of Willowick, OH; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother: Robert Maihofer. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2010 from 3-7 pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Road, Lakeside-Marblehead, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 10 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay Street, Marblehead, OH with Reverend Daniel J. Ring officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Marblehead. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice.
