Marian J. Hirt

Marian J. Hirt, 88, of Danbury Township, died Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky. She was born Nov. 26, 1927 the daughter of Edwin and Mary (Martin) Bergman. She married William Hirt on Oct. 18, 1947 and he survives. Marian grew up on a farm during the depression and worked on the assembly line at Philco Corp. where she met her husband Bill. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Danbury where she was active in the Women of the Church. She was a very gracious lady who enjoyed sewing, cooking, garage sales and collecting and shelling hickory nuts. Surviving are her husband William; sons: Dave (Jan) Hirt of Marblehead, William (Terrie) Hirt, II of Bay View, Robert Hirt of Sandusky; daughter: Marla Hirt of Marblehead; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister: Marlene Phalin of Toledo. She was preceded in death by her brother: John N. Bergman. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 13, 2015 from 12:00 noon until 3:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd. LakesideMarblehead, OH. Additional visitation will be held Monday, December 14, 2015 from 10:00 am 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Danbury, 541 S. Church Rd. LakesideMarblehead, OH where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday. Reverend Chris Young will be officiating. Interment will take place in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery.
