Maria Lilia Cuevas

Maria Lilia Cuevas, 83, of Port Clinton, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, OH with her entire family at her side. She was born January 24, 1941 in Mission, TX the daughter of Guadalupe and Josefina (Garcia) Chapa, Sr. She married Roque “Rocky” Cuevas on February 28, 1960 and he survives. Maria was a nurse’s aid at Magruder Hospital retiring in 1998. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton. She loved to crochet and making blankets for others. She previously played volleyball and softball in area leagues.

Surviving are her husband of 64 years: Rocky; children: Lionel Cuevas of Port Clinton, Gloria (Edward) Butterfield of Mentor, OH, Ruben Cuevas of Port Clinton, Delia (John) MacDonald of Sandusky, Margarita (Timothy) Titta of Port Clinton;

Grandchildren: Chrissy, Jesse, Manny, Nicole, Jessica, Leonardo, Sarah, Samantha, Eli, Mitchell, Miranda, Brennen, Devon, Alivia, Jared, Rachel, Abby and many great-grandchildren.

Siblings: Jose (Maria Elena) Rodriguez of Mission, TX, Julia (Lupe) Rodriquez of Wharton, TX, Cecilia Ochoa of Mission, TX, and special friend, Father John Missler.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter: Selena Titta, great-great-grandson: Xander Cuevas; siblings: Jesse Chapa, Guadalupe Chapa, Jr., and Josefina Chapa.

Visitation will be Monday, June 3, 2024 from 9:00 – 11:00 am at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Jonathon Wight at 11:30 am Monday, June 3, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison St. Port Clinton, OH. Interment will follow at LaCarpe Cemetery, Erie Township. Memorial Contributions may be given to the Selena Titta Scholarship Fund at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
