Margarette L. Fuerstenburg

Margarette L. “Maggie” Fuerstenberg, 93, of Port Clinton, Ohio, died Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton. She was born on January 18, 1914, in Capac, Michigan, the daughter of the late William & Eliza (Radcliff) Geno. On October 22, 1933 she married William F. Fuerstenberg, and he preceded her in death on September 28, 1995. Maggie previously worked at the Danbury Fruit House as well as the Cottage Inn, in Danbury Township. She then was a cook at the Alpine Cliff House, which is now the Catawba Island Club until her retirement. She was an avid churchgoer, being a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, where she served in the ladies auxiliary and quilting club. She was also a member of the Port Clinton Daughters of America. Her hobbies included playing cards and she belonged to a card club which met every week to play pinochle. An avid cook, she loved to bake. Survivors include her children, Susie Bickley, Marblehead, OH; JoAnn Fuerstenberg, Port Clinton, OH; David (Gloria) Fuerstenberg, Gypsum, OH; Pat Fuerstenberg, Port Clinton, OH; Nine Grand- children; Twenty Great Grandchildren; Nine Great-Great Grand-children; brothers: William Geno, Flat Rock, MI; Joe Geno, Toledo, OH; James Geno, Monroe, MI; sisters: Marie St. Bernard, Monroe, MI; Esther Burgrave, Monroe, MI; and Elizabeth “Babe” Jackson, Monroe, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, William G. “Sonny” Fuerstenberg and Joey Fuerstenberg; and sisters, Lillian and Mildred. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Friday at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 22, at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle, Michigan, followed by a luncheon at Zion Lutheran Church, Monroe, Michigan.
