Margaret Rose Brown-Shoosmith, age 65, of Henderson, NV passed away on December 19, 2017. She was born in Toledo, OH on September 13, 1952 to Kenneth and Thelma Leman Brown. She married John H. Shoosmith on September 29, 1990. John preceded her in death in 2009. Maggie worked at a number of different places over the years including the Excalibur, and most recently at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum. She was an animal advocate and lover and supported many different groups volunteering time and talent; including Save the Wild Mustang, Rescue Foundations for horses and dogs. She was also very involved in the Celtic Society and St. Andrews Society of Southern Nevada. She was a very talented artist and enjoyed pastel and oil paintings of her favorite subjects: horses and dogs. She is survived by her two brothers, Rev. James Brown of Marblehead, OH, and Charles (Dona) Brown of Toledo, OH; and her two sisters, Barbara (Kevin) Smith of Henderson, NV and Katherine Brown of Marblehead, OH. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for Margie Shoosmith at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marblehead, Ohio on Saturday, January 27 at 10:00 am. Her funeral Mass took place at St. Andrews Catholic Community in Boulder City, Nevada, and burial in the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery with her husband John, on January 11, 2018.
