Margaret D. Chimo

Margaret D. Chimo, 85, of Port Clinton, OH, died Saturday, November 4, 2006 at her residence. She was born June 1, 1921 in Crows Nest, PA a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Kocik) Hrupcho. She married F. E. “Nundy” Chimo on June 19, 1948 and he preceded her in death on July 23, 1974. She was a retired switchboard operator for GTE and she previously worked at Standard Products, Port Clinton, as a receptionist and switchboard operator. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she was active in the Altar and Rosary Society and was a past officer, she was a Eucharistic minister and a member of the memorial choir at church. She was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Diocese of Toledo. She was also a member of the St. Charles Study Club. Surviving is her son, Stephen of Port Clinton; daughters, Anne Chimo of Toledo, Cathy Chimo of Alma, MI; sisters, Elizabeth Hrupcho of Port Clinton, Catherine Erney of Columbus; brother, Joseph Hrupcho of Pineville, NC; many nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Michael Hrupcho, John Field; sisters, Mary Waganfeald and Ann Andrews. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton, where prayer services will begin at 10:30 A.M. Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church, Port Clinton, OH. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH.
