Mamie Kolar

Mamie Kolar, 91, of Marblehead, Ohio passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, Ohio. She was born on December 9, 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Alphonso and Catherine (Tabone) DiSalvo. On February 19, 1944 she married Anthony M. Kolar and he preceded her in death on February 23, 1980. Early in her working career, she worked at Read's Jewelers in Cleveland. Her family moved to Marblehead in 1994, where she enjoyed being a hostess at Frontwater's Restaurant and Brewery. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marblehead, and she was also the Past President of the Isabella Guild, Bishop Hagen Council 3126 of Bedford, Ohio. Survivors include her sons: Frederick (Kathleen) Kolar, Marblehead and Steven (Wendy) Kolar, Marblehead; grandchildren: Christopher (Jennifer) Kolar, Jeffrey (Mary) Kolar, Loriann (Mark) Abood, Dante Pisani; great-grandchildren: Joseph and Kealy Kolar, Nicholas and Faith Kolar, Kristian, Gabriel, and Magdalaina Abood, Sophia and Thomas Pisani; sister: Mary Kolar, Maple Heights, Ohio; brothers: Charles DiSalvo, Macedonia, Ohio, Anthony (Jean) DiSalvo, Independence, Ohio; nieces and nephews, and many family friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister: Yolanda Fantozzi; brother: Joseph DiSalvo; sister-in-law: Frances DiSalvo and brother-in-law: Francis Kolar. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013 from 2-8pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Road, Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio. Additional visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay Street, Marblehead, on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 from 9:30am until a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am with Father Daniel J. Ring, Father Paul Sciarrotta, and Father William Padavick, officiating. Burial will take place at Noon on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Cleveland.
