Mae E. Brindley

Mae E. Brindley, 87, of Oak Harbor, died Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor. She was born July 8, 1919 in Oak Harbor to the late Henry & Mary (Bearss) Boysen. On June 10, 1938 she married Louis Brindley who preceded her in death on July 16, 2002. Mae had worked at the Erie Ordinance Depot, also as a Telephone Operator, and more recently in the family business where her husband owned and operated the local 20th Century Lanes Bowling Alley. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, Port Clinton Artist Club and Toledo Area Artists. She loved art at all mediums, sewing, reading books, and bowling. Survivors include her daughters: Karen LaFountain, Kathy (Scott) Renz, and Ellen Brindley all of Oak Harbor, grandchildren: Rick (Tari) LaFountain, Tom (Anne) Renz, and Michael Renz, and great- grandchildren: Greg and Ashley LaFountain and step-great- grandchildren AJ and Andrea Cecil. Friends may call Thursday from 2-9pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor with the family present from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Services will begin at 11:00am on Friday, February 23, 2007 at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Cheryl Wessel officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
