Lynne E. Zura

Lynne E. Zura, 82, of Put-in-Bay, passed away Tuesday, February 6,

2024 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, Ohio. She was born

December 29, 1941, in Garrettsville, Ohio to Joseph and

Elizabeth (Hart) Disrude. Lynne was a 1960 graduate of Put-in-Bay High School. On November 9, 1963, she married Daniel J. Zura at Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her parents Betty and Joe, husband Daniel, son Mark, brother Steve Disrude, and brother-in-law Edward Moxley. Lynne retired from the Fremont City Schools in 2006 where she was the school secretary at Atkinson Elementary.

Surviving are her daughters Leanne (Carl) Harrison of Kent, OH,

Allison Zura Wright of Put-in-Bay, OH; grandchildren Emma Harrison, Zoe Zura, and Elias Wright; sister Anne Disrude, Jersey City, NJ; sisters-in-law, Susan Moxley, Huron, OH, Diane Disrude, Willis, TX, brother-in-law Richard Zura, Bayview, OH, nieces and nephews Laura (James) Vidler, Michael (Benito) Disrude, Mathew Disrude, Michael (Lisa) Moxley, and her beloved fuzzy friend Leo.

Upon retirement, Lynne took the opportunity to travel to some of her favorite places including Italy, the Mediterranean, Costa Rica, the Mexican Riviera, Napa Valley, New England, Nova Scotia, and Alaska. She loved flower gardening, rock collecting, watching and feeding birds, reading, and driving her 1929 Model A around the island, but most of all her three grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Her zest for life, smile, infectious laughter, and sense of humor will forever be remembered. Lynne always brought lively fun to any occasion. She will be dearly missed.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date when the sun shines warm and the flowers bloom.
