Lyman "Gabby" L. Sprague

Lyman L. "Gabby" Sprague, 74, of Graytown, Ohio, died Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor, Ohio. He was born in Rocky Ridge, Ohio on January 5, 1938, a son of Lyman C. & Leah (Dehring) Sprague. An Operating Engineer working out of Local #18 in Toledo, Gabby was also well known in the area for his skill as a blacksmith and ferrier. On January 27, 1962, he married the former Sharon Pfaff, and she survives. Also surviving are his children, Bart (Ginger) Sprague, Bryan, Ohio, Brett Sprague, Graytown, Kami (Dean) Brough, Oak Harbor, and Kara (Ross) Lomazov, Clarkston, Michigan; brothers, Ferrell "Mose" Sprague, Florida, and Bernard "Butch" (Laverne) Sprague, Rocky Ridge; grandchildren, Jason (Shannon), Hollie (Scott), Konnor, Kobe, AJ, and Leah; and great-grandchildren, David, Dylan, and Jerica. He was preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of Gabby's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 14, 2013 at St. John Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge, with Rev. Glen Stadler officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church or Stein Hospice.
