Lyle W. Peters, 86 of Oak Harbor, OH died Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Edgewood Manor, Port Clinton, OH. He was born April 13, 1935 in Elmore, OH to the late Ervin and Helen (Ahrendt) Peters. He was a 1953 graduate of Harris-Elmore High School. He worked for the Hay Mill, Landmark Elevator in Oak Harbor, and retired from Jerry Haar Excavating, Elmore. On June 17, 1981 he married the former Sharon Whiting and she survives. He was a 40 year member of the Oak Harbor Lions Club, a member and officer in the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Fremont, OH, St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor where he taught Sunday School and served many years on Church Council. Lyle enjoyed farming, gardening, bowling, and was an avid dartball player, loved going on bus trips, woodworking (especially making crosses) and greeting people at church on Sunday mornings. He also enjoyed fishing, coin collecting and bike riding. Survivors include his wife Sharon of Oak Harbor; children: Kimberly (Dave) Groh of Findlay, OH, Kendyl (Dawn) Peters of Elmore, OH, Kristine (Tom) Tarallo of Oak Harbor, Kevin (Lori) Peters of Gibsonburg, OH, and Korilee (Ronald) Hatmaker of Oak Harbor; 9 grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; 5 step- great grandchildren; and his 1st wife Lodema Swift. He was also preceded in death by his brother Ronald Peters, sister Jane Tolan, and brother-in-law Gary Whiting. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8pm at the Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel, where there will be a Memorial Service given by the Fraternal Order of Eagles beginning at 7pm. Funeral Services will begin at 11am on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. There will be no interment at this time as Lyle wished his body to be donated to the University of Toledo Medical Center. Memorial Contribution may be given to: St. Johns Ev.
