Lydia T Cook

PORT CLINTON: Lydia T. Cook, 76, of Port Clinton, died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky, OH. She was born February 17, 1935 in Russell County, VA the daughter of the late Clarence and Daisy (Self) Gilbert. She married Oscar Cook on September 14, 1951 and he preceded her in death on August 23, 2005. Mrs. Cook worked in Dietary as a cashier for Smith Co. Hospital in Marion, VA and Aime Packing in Port Clinton until her retirement in 1998. She enjoyed sewing, camping and playing in casinos. She especially enjoyed spending time with their kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Surviving are her son, Oscar E. (Sandy) Cook of Lakeside--Marblehead; daughters, Patsy Cook of Port Clinton, Devetha "Susie" (Bob Baker) Zabilka of Roberts, WI, Jeannie ( fianc Brian Gardner) Cook of Wilmington, North Carolina; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren one great-great-grandson; nephews: Robert Puckett of Lakeside--Marblehead, OH and Gilmore Puckett of Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Oscar and sister: Anas Puckett. Lydia, along with her husband, Oscar will be buried together with military graveside services conducted 11:00am Monday, January 30, 2012 at LaCarpe Cemetery, Lacarne, Ohio. There will be no visitation. A bereavement meal will be served following the graveside service at Portage Township Hall on State Road- Old Rte 2.
