Luther H. Paulsen

Luther H. Paulsen, 83, of Port Clinton, OH, and formerly of Sandusky and Tiffin, died Monday evening at Harbor Side Health Care, Sylvania, OH. He was born May 5, 1923 in Bay Township, Ottawa County, a son of the late Andrew & Mabel (Libben) Paulsen. He married Eleanor Bauman on Sept. 27, 1947, and she survives. Mr. Paulsen worked for Ohio Bell/ Ameritech in management for 34 years retiring on Sept. 1, 1982. He was a flight engineer in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Lieutenant during World War II. He retired from the Air Force Reserves as a Major in 1983. Mr. Paulsen was a member of The Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Toledo, the Sandusky and Tiffin Lions Clubs and Oak Harbor Lodge #495, F. & A.M. for 60 years. Surviving is his wife, Eleanor; sons, David Paulsen of Port Clinton, Larry (Kathy) Paulsen of Norwalk, OH; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille (Don) Atzinger of Lyons, OH. He was preceded in death by his son, Lynn Paulsen; daughter, Janet Miller; grandsons, Chad Paulsen, Karl Paulsen, and his brother, Archie Paulsen. The family will receive friends from 2-8 P.M. Thursday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton, where funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday. Pastor Richard O. Sauerlender will officiate, and interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorial contributions may be given to The Lutheran Church of Our Savior, the American Diabetes Association, or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
