Lucille E. Wilburn

Lucille E. Wilburn, 84, of Elmore, OH, died Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, OH. She was born July 14, 1930 in Graytown, OH to the late Carl Davis & Emma (Knieriem) Suiter. On May 7, 1946, she married Clarence E. Wilburn who preceded her in death May 20, 1998. Lucille retired as a waitress from Holiday Inn. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore and American Legion Post #279 Ladies Auxiliary. She loved baking. Her baking skills were well known throughout the Elmore and Toledo area as she catered, made wedding cakes, prize-winning pies, pecan rolls, and cookies. Lucille still hosted the annual reunion for her husband's WWII military battalion. Survivors include her children: Sharon (Fred) Wepler, of Toledo, Linda Schlipf of Genoa, Cheryl Harris of Elmore, Terry (William) Floro of Genoa, Clarence (Debra) Wilburn II of Millbury, Rebecca Wilburn of Oak Harbor, and James (Dawn) Wilburn of Elmore; brothers, Andrew Nowak of Graytown and Donald Davis of Genoa. Lucille had 18 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Stephany; son-in-law, Terry Schlipf; brother, Harmon Nowak; sisters: Lillian Brillhart and Edith Seeger; and grandchildren: Jennifer Goetz and Corey Wilburn. Visitation will be Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-8 P.M. at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elmore-Genoa Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 2, 2014 at St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore. Interment will be in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Harris-Elmore Fire & EMS or St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore.
