Lowell Thomas Zook

September 14, 1931 — November 13, 2016

Lowell Thomas Zook, passed away Sunday November 13, 2016 at age 85. Known to many as "Zook", he was born in Walnut Creek Ohio on September 14, 1931 to Dona (Hershberger) and Palmer Zook. He loved fishing, golfing and all sports. In his early days he loved playing basketball and baseball and after high school played for the New Iberia Pelicans in Louisiana. He was inducted into the Holmes County Sports Hall of Fame. He was a local Iron Worker based in Canton Ohio and also a longtime owner of South Erie Pizza in Massillon, Ohio before he retired. In his later years he loved watching sports and coaching the Cleveland Indians from the comfort of his recliner. Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, and his two sisters Julia Gerber and Dorcas Miller and leaves behind two daughters: Sheila Fogarty (Kevin Fogarty), Lisa Zook, and a granddaughter, Sarah Meyers. Following his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
