Lowell P. "Bing" Renz, Sr., 76, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Thursday, January 15, 2009 at his home. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 1, 1932, a son of the late Harold & Mary (Floriana) Renz. Bing was an electrician for 42 years for I.B.E.W. Local #8, retiring in 1996. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor. A member of the Oak Harbor Golf Club, Bing also was a past president of the Toledo Baseball Association, and was active in the Mud Jaw Bowman Archery Club. He was a member of the Polish National Allegience, Polish Falcons, and Bendovers. Bing was devoted to his family and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. On February 27, 1954, he married the former Nancy B. Diamond, and she survives. Also surviving are his sons, Lowell (Brenda) Renz, Jr., Toledo, and William Renz, Oak Harbor; daughters, Charmaine (Frank) Wiench, Toledo, Renee (Charles) Kolebuck, Toledo, Audrey (Steve) Axe, Oak Harbor, Ramona (Charles) Gardner, Fremont, OH, and Nadine (Ken) Whited, Texas; 20 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Harold and William Renz. Friends are invited to call from 6-8 P.M. Sunday and 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Monday at Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 8 P.M. Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor, with the Rev. David L. Ritchie, Celebrant. Interment will be in Rusha Cemetery, Carroll Township.
