Lowell C. Krumnow, 56, of Elmore, Ohio, died Sunday, October 6, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Oregon, Ohio on September 28, 1957, a son of August & Hildred(Snyder) Krumnow. Lowell was a 1975 graduate of Woodmore High School, and worked at the former Johnnies Super Dollar during his school years. In 1980, he founded the Elmore Historical Society and was instrumental in the restoration of the Elmore Railroad Depot and the Heckman log home. Lowell worked at Crown Cork & Seal in Oregon, and presently was employed by Nabisco, in Toledo. A long time vocal supporter of the Elmore Community, he was elected to the Elmore Village Council in 1981 and has served as the Mayor of the Village of Elmore for 22 years, being elected in 1992. Lowell was a member of St. Paul-Trinity United Methodist Church in Elmore. On December 31, 1987, Lowell married the former Diane Fuleky, and she survives. Also surviving is his daughter, Jacqueline Krumnow, Kent, Ohio; son, James (Heather) Fuelling, Ypsilanti Township, Michigan; brothers, William (Sue) Krumnow, Fremont, Ohio, Russell (Peggy) Krumnow, and James Krumnow, both of Elmore. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, and 9 a.m.-8 p.m. (family present 2-8 p.m.) Thursday at Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore-Genoa Chapel, 19550 W. S.R. 51. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Paul-Trinity United Methodist Church, 340 Toledo St., Elmore, where friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Pastor Rob Rakay will officiate, and interment will be at Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery. Following the committal service, there will be a luncheon at the Elmore Historical Society. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elmore Historical Society, or St. Paul-Trinity United Methodist Church.
