Louise A. Rogers

Louise Anna Rogers, aged 84, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. She was born on May 7, 1939, in Wheeling, WV, to the late Frederick and Wilma (Schafer) Rentschler. Louise married Rev. Charles W. Rogers on August 6, 1958, and he preceded her in death on April 28, 2007.


Louise retired several years ago after her lengthy tenure at the former Silgan Plastics plant in Port Clinton, OH. After her retirement, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also had a deep passion for music and art. Louise served as the church secretary for many years and was currently the organist at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Marblehead. She was an active member of the Port Clinton Artist Club, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Danbury, and involved in WELCA.


Surviving Louise are her children: Mark (Cheryl) Rogers of Piqua, OH, David (Brenda) Rogers of Gibsonburg, OH, Karen (Tim) Bretz of Westerville, OH, and Laura (Rick) Green of Spring Hill, TN. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Brock (Stephanie) Heath, Ashley Evans, Scott (Elisabeth) Rogers, Christopher (Jessica) Rogers, Chad Rogers, Elias Rogers, Samantha Rogers, Katherine Bretz, and Liam Ball, as well as her great-grandchildren: Maria Jose, Adriana, Bella, Blake, Olivia, Abram, Isaac, Gabriel, Inara, Kasey, Carson, Dawson, Myah, and Jaxson. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Bennett of Levittown, PA. and her brother, Fred (Lynette) Rentschler of Wheeling, WV.


Visitation will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, located at 7755 E. Harbor Rd., Lakeside-Marblehead, OH. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Danbury, 541 Church Rd., Lakeside-Marblehead, OH, with visitation at the church starting at 10:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will take place in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the March of Dimes or St. Paul Lutheran Church.
