Lois J. Bennett

Lois J. Bennett, 86, of Fremont, OH and formerly of Oak Harbor, passed away Thursday evening at Bethesda Care Center, Fremont, after a short illness. She was born in Port Clinton, OH to Elsie (Sperber) LaCrone. Lois graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1938. In 1942 she married William R. Bennett. During WW II, Lois worked at the Erie Ordinance Depot in Port Clinton. When William returned from the War, they settled in Oak Harbor and raised 3 children and loved each other until his death in 1982. Lois enjoyed her family, cards with her girlfriends, and life in general. She will be missed. Surviving are children Michael (Margaret) Bennett of Oak Harbor, Peggy (Russell) Dreyer of Elmore, and James (Laura) Bennett of Fremont, 4 grandchildren, and 4 great- grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her mother, sisters Clarabelle Nissen, and Virginia Nahm, her beloved Bill, and grandson Michael Bennett. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-9pm with the family present from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Funeral Services will begin at 11am, Monday, October 2, 2006 at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Heilman officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
