Lloyd E. "Butch" Hamann

Lloyd E. "Butch" Hamann, 73, of Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on June 21, 1945 in Port Clinton, Ohio, the son of Lloyd H. and Lillian (Ontko) Hamann. He married Roxanne Wilson on March 12, 1964 and she survives. Lloyd was a 1963 graduate of Lakeside High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served for 4 years until his honorable discharge. He then went to work at the former Ford Motor Company in Sandusky where he worked for 30 years until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Marblehead. He was a very devout and faithful Christian which led him to trying to help people who were underprivileged or dealing with drug and alcohol addictions. In his spare time he enjoyed working in his yard, solving crossword puzzles, coaching youth little league baseball, decorating for Christmas both inside and outside the house, and spending time with his family whom he loved deeply. Survivors include his wife, Roxanne; son, Sandy (Katie) Hamann, Catawba Island; daughter, Christine (Brad) Meek, Port Clinton; grandchildren. Tim (Amy Hazlett) Hamann, Michael (Janel) Hamann, Cheyenne Meek, Shane Meek, Christian Meek; great-grandchildren, Stephen Weaver, Jewel and Juliette Hamann, and one on the way; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Hamann; and sisters, Mary Ann Hamann, Patricia Mae Warnke and Elona Holeman. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 3 pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Road, Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio, followed by a gathering with the family at Wesley Lodge in Lakeside.
