Leslie F. Sprouse, 82, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo. He was born on May 7, 1929 to Leslie F. & Grace (Gallagher) Sprouse of Maumee, Ohio. A 1948 graduate of Oak Harbor High School, Les was a member of the Benton Township School Board and the Benton-Carroll-Salem Board of Education for many years. He was also a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Genoa Kiwanis, Marsh Club, Oak Harbor Rotary Club, Pair-of-Docs Lunch Group, and was Director Emeritus of Genoa Bank. In 1957, Les founded Sprouse Insurance Agency in Genoa. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 60 years, Barb (Johns) Sprouse; daughters, Bonnie (Thom) Yano, Vermillion, OH, Pat (Tony) Gaines, Galena, OH, Bev (Chuck) Krumel, London, OH; sons, Mike Sprouse, Fremont, OH, Scott (Kelly) Sprouse, Oak Harbor, and Terry (Jane) Sprouse, Mead, CO; 16 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Les was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bob and Doug Sprouse, and daughter-in-law, Sherry Sprouse. Family meant everything to Les, and he meant everything to his family. Friends are invited to call from 2-8 P.M. Friday at Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at St. Paul United Church of Christ, with the Rev. David A. Voll officiating. Interment will be in Elliston Cemetery.
