Leroy C. Bolay

Leroy Carl Bolay, 87 of Oak Harbor died Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, OH. He was born at home June 23, 1922 in Oak Harbor, OH to the late Gottlieb and Rose (Herring) Bolay. On July 26, 1949 he married the former Dorothy (Schrader) Jess who preceded him in death March 12, 1985. Leroy retired from USCO in Port Clinton and farmed his entire life. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor and loved to work. Survivors include his sons Kenneth (Linda) Bolay of Oak Harbor and Robert R.(Carol) Jess of Shelby, OH; five grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sisters: Lucille Genzman and Leona Hameister-Genzman. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8pm with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Funeral Services will be held 11 am Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at the Funeral Home with the Rev. David A. Voll officiating. Burial will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be given to St. Paul United Church of Christ, Stein Hospice, or a Charity of the Donor's Choice.
