Leonard Buhrow

Leonard "Bud" Buhrow, 86, of Oak Harbor, OH died Friday, April 10, 2009 at Genoa Care Center. He was born March 31, 1923 in Benton Township, Ottawa County, OH the son of William F. and Katherine (Banky) Buhrow. On May 23, 1940 he married Marcella "Cell" Blausey who preceded him in death on December 6, 2004. Bud owned and operated Buhrow's Incorporated, with his sons from the 1960's until his retirement in 2006. The family business, which his father William established in 1918, started in Limestone before moving into their new facility near Elmore in 1973 now known as Bay Tractor and Turf. Mr. Buhrow was a Veteran of WW II serving in the United States Army. He was a life member of both St. John's Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8732 of Oak Harbor. Bud was very active in the community and had many friends, but he especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his sons: Robert L. (Janet) Buhrow, Gary L. Buhrow, and Dean G. (Judy) Buhrow all of Oak Harbor, 8 grandchildren, 16 great- grandchildren, 3 great- great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Cell, step- mother Lottie (Cutcher); brothers: Norman and William "Whitey" Buhrow; sisters: Verleah Base and Dorothea Perry, and daughter- in- law Judy. Visitation will be Monday from 2-9pm and Tuesday from 9am 9pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge with the Rev. Keith Baker officiating. Interment will be in Elliston Cemetery with Military Honors presented by American Legion Post 114 and V.F.W. Post 8732 both of Oak Harbor.
