Lawrence Joseph "Larry" Kokinda, 60, of Frankfort, Illinois died Friday January 18, 2008 at St. James Hospital & Health Center in Olympia Fields, Illinois. He was born February 26, 1947 in Port Clinton, a son of Joseph F. & Eleanor (Hugg) Kokinda. Larry was a graduate of The Ohio State University and was employed for 33 years with the U.S. Gypsum Company. He was a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Larrys passion was stock car racing. He was a loving husband and a devoted father who will be greatly missed. Surviving are his wife, Susan (Bowen) Kokinda, whom he married on December 4, 1974; sons, Kory Joseph Kokinda, Kasey Lawrence Kokinda, and Kolin Franklin Kokinda, all of Frankfort; his mother, Eleanor Kokinda of Port Clinton; brothers, Terry (Donna Sue) Kokinda of Kentucky, Perry (Cindy) Kokinda of Port Clinton and Duane (Betty ) Kokinda of Texas; four nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph. The family will receive friends from 6 - 9 P.M. Tuesday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton, and from 10 A.M. Wednesday until the time of services at 11 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
