Lawrence E. Benya, 81 of Marblehead, OH, died Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Stein Hospice of Sandusky, Ohio. He was born Tuesday, October 21, 1924 in Marblehead, OH, son of the late John Benya and the late Rose Wrabel. Mr. Benya was a member of Lakeside Class of 1943 class vice-president, Marblehead VFW Post 7572, Marblehead Legion Post 555 and worked as a Machine Operator for General Motors New Departure Plant retiring on January 1, 1988. He married his wife, Lucille Benya on November 15, 1947. Mr. Benyais survived by his wife, Lucille Benya; 2 Sons, John (Kathleen) Benya of Sylvania, OH, Brian (Laura) Benya of Marblehead, OH; 2 Grandchildren, Nicholas and Alison Benya, Beth Benya; Sister-in-law, Barbara Benya of Toledo, OH. He was preceded in death bysister:Grace Jappsen, brother: Sylvester Benya, brother: Vincent Benya, brother: William Benya, brother: Ralph Benya, sister: Agnes Kurth, brother: George Benya, brother: Louis Benya, brother: Daniel Benya. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9, Friday, January 27, 2006 at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsua Chapel, Lakeside-Marblehead, OH. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, Saturday, January 28, 2006 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Henry Seibert officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Marblehead, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice, St Paul Lutheran Church, or Lakeside and Marblehead Volunteer Fire Department.
