Lavonne F. Payne Smith

Lavonne F. Payne Smith, 93, of Port Clinton passed away Monday, January 25, 2021 at her home. She was born November 8, 1927 in Port Clinton, the daughter of Ruel and Enid (Widmer) Payne. She married Joseph A. Smith on November 17, 1950 and he preceded her in death on February 6, 2016. Lavonne was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church. She was previously a member of the Women of the Moose and she enjoyed bowling and sewing. Surviving are her son Roger (Lois Couture) Smith of Port Clinton; grandchildren: Jason Smith, Scott (Vicki) Smith; great-grandchildren: Katie Smith, Andrew Denis, Hailey Smith, Gracie Smith; brother: Ron (Dee Lochotzki) Payne of Port Clinton and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Kenny Payne, Duane Payne and sister Beverly Payne Bigelow. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 am Friday, January 29, 2021 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton where visitation will be held Friday from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
