Laona P. Ladd

Laona P. Ladd, 94, of Oak Harbor, OH died Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at her home. She was born August 1, 1914 in Cooney, OH to the late Irvin and Zorah (Ely) Lash. She was a 1932 graduate of Edon High School, Edon, OH. On December 19, 1936 she married Ralph H. Ladd who preceded her in death on March 30, 1984. Laona was a homemaker but worked as a clerk for the W.R. Thomas Stores, Inc. first in Angola, IN then more recently in Oak Harbor. She also helped her husband Ralph with the family business Ladd's Garage in Columbia, OH. She was a member of Columbia Church of Christ in Columbia and Ohio Star Quilt Guild. Laona loved to quilt and crochet. Survivors include her daughter Sharon (Tom) Knoop of Oak Harbor, sons: Marvin Ladd (Mary Rosell) of Sacramento, CA, and Lee (Diana) Ladd of Indianapolis, IN; 7 grandchildren, and 8 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step-mother Helen Lash, brothers Harold and Carl Lash, and sister Evelyn Haag. Visitation will be Monday from 6-9pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Funeral Services will be at 10am Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Fremont Alliance Church, Fremont, OH with the Rev. Glenn Merrill II officiating. Burial will be at 3pm Tuesday at Columbia Cemetery, Edon, OH where the family will again receive friends at 2:30pm at the Grave.
