Kenyon Wade Adkinson, 17 of Oak Harbor, OH passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 16, 2022. Kenyon was born December 14, 2004 in Oregon, OH to Andy and Christina (Claussen) Adkinson. He was currently a senior at Oak Harbor High School and a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. Kenyon began wrestling at the age of 4 and was a Junior High State Placer. During his high school career, he was a varsity letter winner in wrestling and football. He was a FFA member and loved welding in the vocational agriculture class. Kenyon’s passion was traveling throughout multiple states with his friends Cade, Rhett, and Gage, showing, transporting, and delivering pigs. Kenyon received multiple Grand Champion Awards while showing pigs at the Ottawa County Fair. He also showed pigs multiple years at the Ohio State Fair. Kenyon cherished his dog Zeke, being outdoors at the family cabin, riding his 4-wheeler, and hanging out with his buddies. He was a vibrant, young kid that loved loud music.
Survivors include his parents and sister Haylin Adkinson, who is his best friend, all residing in Oak Harbor; paternal grandfather Waldon A. “Red” (Ina) Adkinson of Harrodsburg, KY; maternal grandmother Carol Bates of Elliston, OH; maternal grandfather Thomas P. Claussen of Martin, OH; numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins on both sides of his family. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Sue Dell Adkinson, and his maternal grandfather Edmond “Butch” Bates.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8pm at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 122 W. Ottawa Street, Oak Harbor and again on Thursday from 10am-11am at the Church. Funeral Services will begin at 11am on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Becky Bolander Officiating. Following the Service at Church, everyone is invited to the Ottawa County Fairgrounds, 7870 W. State Route 163, Oak Harbor for a gathering and luncheon. Memorial contributions may be given to the Ottawa County Agricultural Society or St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
