Kenneth L. "Yogi" McConahay, 65, of Port Clinton, Ohio, died Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, following a sudden illness. He was born in Ottawa County on April 14, 1943. A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Yogi was an avid hunter and fisherman. He started his career at the Rockwell Marsh, where he was a manager. He also worked at the Northeast Flyway, Ottawa Shooting Club, Gadwall Bay Club, and the Toussaint Shooting Club. Yogi also farmed, was a commercial fisherman, and a heavy equipment officer. He retired from the United States Fish & Wildlife Service, after 15 years. Yogi is survived by his wife, Julie (Finken) McConahay; his former wife, Donna (Boyd) ; his children, Tina (Terry) Hunter) Wilhelm, Tiffin, OH, Kent McConahay, Marblehead, OH, Charlene (Chris) Consolo, Tiffin, OH; step-sons, Brian Buhl, Savannah, GA, and Brad (Shirley) Buhl, Augusta, GA; his sister, Ada Swan, Oak Harbor, OH, and grandchildren, Ashley, Brandon, Tyler, Dylan, Nathan, Dominic, and Kennedy. Yogi was also soon to be a great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Altha Finken; brother, Harmon Finken, and sister, Audrey Neatfeld. Friends are invited to call from 2-9 P.M. Friday at Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where the family will be present from 2-5 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Ralph Schibler officiating. Interment will be in Rusha Cemetery, Carroll Townhip.
