Kenneth R. Hetrick

Kenneth R. Hetrick, 72, of Oak Harbor, OH, died Monday, September 22, 2014 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, OH. He was born in Port Clinton on December 18, 1941, the son of Orlo & Leona (Fick) Hetrick. Ken was a 1960 graduate of Oak Harbor High School and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam. He was the parts manager for Gill Construction, Port Clinton, retiring in 2011. A long time member of the Oak Harbor Fire Department (now Portage Fire District), Ken served the community as Fire Chief from 1975 to 1981. He is survived by his cousins, Tom Almendinger, and Carol (Gary) Harlow, both of Oak Harbor, and Joyce Luebcke, Port Clinton, and several other cousins and family members. Also surviving is his dog, Bella. Friends may call from 2-8 P.M. Thursday at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor, where the family will be present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home, with interment following in Salem Township Union Cemetery.
