Keith G. Huizenga

Keith G. Huizenga, Jr., 77 of Elmore, OH passed away peacefully Thursday, July 13, 2023. He was born October 17, 1945, in Madison, SD to the late Keith G. Huizenga Sr. and Ruth Healey.

He was a 1963 graduate of Maine East High School, a 1967 graduate of Bowling Green State University (BSA), and a 1981 graduate of The University of Toledo (MSE). On August 12, 1967, he married Georgiana Huizenga (Sheers). She preceded him in death on September 4, 2020, after over 53 years of marriage. Keith was a teacher in Toledo Public Schools from 1967 – 1997, and at Terra Community College from 2007 – 2015. He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ and served on Elmore Village Council from 1992 – 1995. Keith loved Shelties, birds, lighthouses, and driving his scooter along the Lake Erie coast. He was a generous donor to Habitat for Humanity, the Cherry St. Mission, and the Black Swamp Bird Observatory.

Survivors include his children: Jennifer (Scott) Vargovich of Maumee, OH and Andrew (Rachel) Huizenga of Reading, OH and grandchildren: Alexander and Madeline Huizenga.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Friday, July 21, 2023 at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elmore-Genoa Chapel, 19550 W. SR. 51, Elmore, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM. Pastor Margaret Mills will officiate and interment will follow at Harris- Elmore Union Cemetery, Elmore.
