Kathy R. Spangler

Kathy R. Spangler, 36 of Oak Harbor, OH passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania, OH surrounded by her family. She was born March 12, 1986 in Lima, OH to George and Karen (Siebeneck) Bockey. She was a 2004 graduate of Delphos St. Johns, received her B.S. in Education from Bowling Green State University, and her M.S. in Education from Bluffton College. On July 23, 2016 she married Christopher Spangler, and he survives. Kathy was employed by the Benton-Carroll-Salem School District where she was currently a 2nd grade teacher. She attended St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor. Kathy loved her family, playing volleyball, traveling, but most of all teaching.

Survivors include her husband Christopher and their dog Charlie of Oak Harbor; mother Karen Bockey of Delphos; sisters Lianne Pohlman and Laura (Brian) McDaniel both of Delphos; nieces & nephews: Cheyenne, Isabella, Pippa, and Harper Pohlman, Chloe and Austin McDaniel; father and mother-in-law Rick & Wendy Spangler of Oak Harbor; and brother-in-law Scott Spangler. She was preceded in death by her father George Bockey.

Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8pm at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel, 301 N. Locust St., Oak Harbor, OH 43449. Funeral Services will begin at 11am on Friday, December 16, 2022 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 165 N. Toussaint St, Oak Harbor. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
