Kathleen "Kathy" A. Johnson

Kathleen Ann Johnson, 51 of Oak Harbor, OH died Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Toledo Hospital in Toledo, OH following a lengthy illness. She was born December 20, 1965 in Port Clinton, OH to Karl and Barbara (Lochotzki) Gates. She was a 1984 graduate of Oak Harbor High School and on August 23, 1985 she married Michael L. Johnson and he survives. Kathy was a homemaker for the first part of her adult life until her family moved back to Oak Harbor in 1996, where she became employed by the Benton- Carroll- Salem School District eventually working mostly at R.C. Waters Elementary School in the cafeteria as a cook or cashier. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Oak Harbor where she was the President of the Rosary Altar Society. She also was Past President of the Oak Harbor American Legion Post 114 Auxiliary, and an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician for the Mid- County Emergency Medical Service, Oak Harbor since 2007. She enjoyed going to the casinos and motorcycle rides. Survivors include her husband of 31 years Michael L. Johnson of Oak Harbor; sons: Nicholas F. and Stephan F. Johnson both at home in Oak Harbor; parents Karl and Barbara Gates of Oak Harbor; mother- in- law Linda Johnson of Oak Harbor; brother David K. Gates of Oak Harbor; sister Cynthia S. Perkins of Millbury, OH; niece Brittany Urban; and nephews: Dustin and Zachary Perkins. She was preceded in death by her father- in- law William J. Johnson Sr.; maternal grandparents Wilbert and Mabel Lochotzki; paternal grandparents Fred and Hilda Gates; and brother- in- law Dan Perkins. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1-8pm at the Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 10:30am at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor with Rev. Timothy Ferris Celebrant. The family will also receive friends Wednesday from 9:30am until the time of Mass at the Church. Burial will be in Salem Township Roose Cemetery at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Boniface Catholic School, Mid- County EMT Association, Joyful Connections of Ottawa County, or a charity of the donor's choice.
