Karen R. Evans

Karen R. Evans, 68, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, and formerly of Genoa, Ohio, died unexpectedly from complications following surgery on Friday, May 3, 2013 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio. She was born in Germany on June 17, 1944, and came to the United States when she was 5 years old. Karen was a computer operator for Jobst Institute in Toledo for 20 years, retiring in 2003. She loved to exercise, garden, tan, and spend time with her grandchildren. On May 8, 1965, she married Donald L. Evans, and he preceded her in death on September 2, 2001. Survivors include her daughters, Dawn (Jeff) Terrill and Sandy Sternberg; grandchildren, Jacob and Samantha Terrill, and Derek and Jamison Sternberg; mother, Irmagard (Rubsam) Zielke; sister, Linda (Denny) Shabnow; and brother, Glenn (Linda) Zielke. She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Zielke. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa, Ohio.
