Karen Louise Vardyan, 78 of Port Clinton, OH died Sunday, March 2, 2025 at her home under Hospice Care. She was born March 25, 1946 in Fremont, OH to the late Claire and Mae (Moyer) Bemis. She was a 1964 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and received her Masters Degree in Library Science from Kent State University. On June 15, 1968 she married John Vardyan, and he survives.
Karen worked and retired from the Birchard Public Library, Fremont. She was also a member of Firelands Presbyterian Church, Port Clinton. She loved watching Ohio State Basketball, spending time with her grandchildren, and being around the Lake.
Survivors include her husband, John of Port Clinton, OH; children: Kurt (Tishe) Vardyan of Hilliard, OH and Renee (Brian) Cronin of Canton, MI; daughter-in-law Kaylene Vardyan of Powell, OH; grandchildren: Samuel, Tanner, Evan, and Camryn. She was also preceded in death by her son Ian Vardyan.
A Celebration of Life will begin at 11am on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Firelands Presbyterian Church, 2626 E. Harbor Road, Port Clinton, OH 43452. She will be placed in the Columbarium at Catawba Island Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Firelands Presbyterian Church, Port Clinton.
