Karen L. Terry

Karen L. Terry, 63, of Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio died Monday, January 20, 2014 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born on February 23, 1950 in Berea, Ohio, the daughter of the late Edward and Jeanetta (Crooks) Bird. She was a 1968 graduate of John Marshall High School in Cleveland, Ohio and then went to Lorain Community College where she received her Associate of Arts degree in Elementary Education. Karen worked as a manager at the National City Bank Headquarters in Cleveland and later as a letter carrier and supervisor for the United States Postal Service in the Cleveland area. She was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church in Lakewood, Ohio; life member of VFW in Valley City, Ohio; member of the American Legion in Marathon, Florida; and member of the Moose Lodge in Big Pine Key, Florida. She enjoyed traveling between their homes in the Florida Keys, Kelleys Island and Marblehead, going for long walks with her dog, Tia, but most importantly, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband: John "Jack" Terry, whom she married on November 27, 1987; daughter: Kathleen (Walter) Krzynowek, Litchfield, Ohio; son: Michael Rancour, Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren: Ryan, Sean, and Alexa Krzynowek; brothers: Michael (Josie) Bird, Lakewood, Ohio; Jack (Virginia) Bird, Adairsville, Georgia; Robert Bird, Clyde, Ohio; Edward (Linda) Bird, Medina, Ohio; nieces and nephews; and her ex-husband: Thomas Rancour. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 11am at the Medina United Methodist Church 4747 Foote Road, Medina, OH 44256.
