June E. Browder

June E. (Brough) Browder, 83, of Chambersburg, PA, and formerly of Oak Harbor, OH, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010 in the Chambersburg Hospital after a brief illness. She was born October 19, 1927 in Ottawa County, a daughter of the late Clayton & Nettie (Finken) Brough. Prior to moving to Chambersburg in 1966, she was active in the community, the Oak Harbor United Methodist Church and also participated in the Canasta Club. A 1945 graduate of the former Salem-Oak Harbor High School, she then went on to work as a telephone operator and federal government employee prior to the birth of her children. A loving homemaker, June enjoyed her pets, reading, puzzles, crosswords, playing cards and above all, being with her family. Her enthusiasm and cheerful outlook drew people to her and she enjoyed many friendships over the years. Her family loved her greatly and will miss her always. She is survived by three children: William (Gerry) Browder of State College, PA, Laura (Jeffrey) Shetter of Chambersburg, PA, Donald (Nipa) Browder of Chambersburg, PA; grandchildren: Tab Hunter, Elizabeth (Justin) Shetter-Ray, Ann (Brian) Deardorff, Kirsten (Jason Mull) Browder, William (Michelle) Conner, Rebecca (Brigman) Conner, Benjamin Browder and Bridgette Browder; great-grandchildren: Kali Hunter, Andrew Shetter, Anastasia June Deardorff sister: Dolores Robertson of Oak Harbor, OH. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee T. Browder, son, Thomas Lee Browder; brother, Curtis Brough; sisters, Grace Sherwood, Donna Lou Stamm, and Mabel Reitler. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at the Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, Chambersburg. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. A luncheon will be held at the Oak Harbor United Methodist Church following the service. Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, is handling local arrangements.
