Julia Coleman, 90, of Port Clinton, died October 29, 2010 at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor. She was born on November 22, 1919, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Parobek) Engler. On May 11, 1943, she married Raymond J. Coleman, who preceded her in death on November 11, 2000. Julia was a former Port Clinton municipal employee, having served as assistant bailiff of the Municipal Court until her retirement in 1980. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a volunteer for various local charitable causes and school-related activities. She also was an avid Michigan football fan, having spent many Saturdays in Ann Arbor at the "Big House" and attended bowl games with her husband, Ray. Surviving are her daughter, Donna (Robert) Gregg of Arlington, Virginia; granddaughter, Kathryn (Tom) Larkin, of Manhattan Beach, California; grandson, Robert Gregg, of Nashville, Tennessee; sister, Mary Butchko, of North Shore Retirement Community, Lakeside; sister-in-law Florence Engler, of Port Clinton; and Engler and Coleman nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers John, Joseph, Louis, and Andrew Engler; and sister Zella Engler, all of Port Clinton. Per Julia's request, a private service will take place at the graveside. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice or St. John's Lutheran Church.
