Judie spent many summer days on Middle Bass Island in Lake Erie where she met a dashing young pilot from South Bass named Robert Hubbard Bahney, Jr. The two married on Sept. 24, 1960, and moved to Cleveland where they started a family. The Bahneys built a home in Kirtland in 1968, where they lived for 20 years, then moved permanently to Put-in-Bay in 1987. Judie was an active member in the Put-in-Bay Yacht Club, serving as Auxiliary President in 1974 and later in the Silver Sails; and was also a member of the OWLS literary society, Daughters of the American Revolution, American Legion Post 542 Ladies Auxiliary, and the St. Paul's Episcopal Church altar guild. Judie served as sexton of the Put-in-Bay cemeteries for the last 25 years. She was known for her beautiful stained-glass artwork. She is predeceased by a sister, Lynn (Flickinger) Williams; survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Robert; devoted children Marilyn (Ben) Paselsky and Robert (Jennifer) Bahney III; grandchildren Nicholas and Michael Paselsky and Mearan Bahney; niece Judy Anne Williams; and nephew Carey "Kip" Williams.
