Juan G. Livas, 89, of Port Clinton, died Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, OH. He was born October 21, 1921 in Madero, TX the son of the late Eugenia and Juanita (Garibay) Livas. He married Ofelia Garza on Jan 8, 1942 and she survives. Mr. Livas worked at U. S. Gypsum for 24 years retiring in 1977. He was a United States Army veteran serving in World War II. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton and the VFW Post 2480 of Port Clinton. Surviving are his wife: Ofelia; sons: Eugenio �Gene� Livas of Port Clinton; Ernesto �Ernie� Livas of Richmond, VA; daughters: Juanita L. Ramos of San Antonio, Guadelupe L. �Lupe� (Joe) Villalon of Marblehead, Margot L. �Margo� McCann of Catawba Island, Belia L. �Bell� (Bruce) Below of Port Clinton; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brother: Nativido �Nato� Livas of Portland, OR; sisters: Matilda Salinas of Englenton, TX and Paula Salazar of Alamo, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Maria M. Livas; brothers: Santo and Tito Livas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father John Misler 10:00 am Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton. Visitation will be held Monday from 2:00 � 4:00 and 6:00 � 8:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton. Burial will be in LaCarpe Cemetery, Lacarne, Ohio.
