Joyce O. Hoffman

Joyce O. Hoffman, 85, of Oak Harbor, OH, died Friday, November 11, 2016 at Bethesda Care Center, Fremont, OH. She was born on May 20, 1931 to the late Henry & Orlena (Genzman) Wohlers. Joyce was a 1949 graduate of the former Salem-Oak Harbor High School, and was an active member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor, where she had served as secretary and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She enjoyed playing with her Bunco group for many years, and looked forward to getting together with her fellow 1949 classmates. Joyce worked for many years at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor, and was also an employee of the former J. Weller Company, Oak Harbor. She was a family person, and greatly enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. On January 20, 1951, Joyce married Wesley R. Hoffman, and he survives. Also surviving are her daughters, Patricia (Edwin) Hill, Fremont, OH, Marsha (Thomas) Hill and Sandra Hoy, both of Oak Harbor, and Cheryl Hoffman of Bowling Green, OH. She is also survived by many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to call from 2-8 P.M. Friday at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor, where Joyce's husband, Wes, will be present from 2-4 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 19, 2016 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 165 Toussaint St, Oak Harbor, where visitation will be held an hour prior to the service. Rev. David A. Voll will officiate, and interment will follow at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Following the services, a luncheon will be held at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Humane Society of Ottawa County, or the Memorial Fund of St. Paul United Church of Christ.
