Joyce Evelyn Wears Ballin

Joyce Evelyn Wears Ballin, 79, of Lacarne died Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at her residence. She was born August 11, 1932 in Port Clinton the daughter of the late Fred and Olga (Kolemeyer) Fryman. She married Delbert Wears on May 6, 1949 and he preceded her in death on September 11, 1991. She married Dixon Ballin on October 19, 1992 and he preceded her in death on July 19, 2003. Joyce loved to play bingo, bowl and go to the casino. She is survived by her children: Dwane (Angela) Wears of Lacarne, Kenneth (Betty Jo) Wears of Oak Harbor, Karen (Henry) Hatt of Port Clinton, Judy Ranzenburger of Port Clinton, Ronald (Charlotte) Wears of Clyde; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; step-children: Richard (Donna) Ballin of Port Clinton, Meg (Paul) Dress of Port Clinton, Bud Ballin, Janie Ballin and companion Ken Priddy of Port Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Delbert Wears, husband Dixon Ballin, sister: Phyliss Brassel, sister: Delores "Pee Wee" Bodi, step-son: Vinnie Ballin. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, March 26, 2012 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton where visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 4:00 and 6:00 8:00 pm. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Stein Hospice.
