Joyce A. Laubacher

Joyce A. Laubacher, 92 of Oak Harbor, OH died Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor under Hospice Care. She was born January 20, 1933 in Oak Harbor, OH to the late Richard and Sylvia (Schanke) Grau. She was a 1951 graduate of Salem-Oak Harbor High School. On July 11, 1952 she married Carol Laubacher who preceded her in death July 2, 2012. Joyce worked many jobs in her life: the old A & P Grocery Store, Kroger Grocery Store, Ailing and Reichert, but spent a majority of her life working for the Weichman Insurance Company that eventually became Almendinger Insurance Company. She also baby-sat for many years and finally retired from everything in 1999.

Joyce was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, where for a period of time was a part of the group that counted the money from offerings. She was also a member of the Riverview Auxiliary, played Bunco, bowled, enjoyed playing cards, and loved to travel with her husband.

Survivors include her sons: Ronald (Sandra) Laubacher and Randal (Laura Winter) Laubacher; grandchildren: Jeremy (Laura) Laubacher, Jason (Kayla) Laubacher, and Stacy (Brad) Schlagheck; great-grandchildren: Addison, Kaylee, Emma, Abigail, Hayden, Luke, Odin, and Lorelai; and sister-in-law Dorothy Grau. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Lloyd, Kenneth, Marvin, and Merle Grau; infant brother and sister Ronnie & Lois Grau.

Visitation will be Friday from 2-8pm at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 11am on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. Burial will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial Contributions may be given to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Riverview Auxiliary, or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
